Spent the new year down at Kevin and Hannah's house. Great night again. Its good to have a good old style Scottish New Year!! May this year bring you hope for :) x

Just back from the theory test centre, which BY THE WAY KEVIN WAS NOWHERE NEAR WHERE YOU SAID!!! But still, I passed and now all I have to do is pass the practical section... sounds easy enough eh!? The theory test over here in the UK is split into 2 parts. The first is a series of questions about cars, driving and situations, the second is a virtual car ride where you have to spot potential hazards on the road ahead. That was the bit I totally sucked at, but still managed to pass with flying colours!!
Welcome to the new look site! Kevin has worked his ass off on this (where he finds the time, what with baby and a real job, I'll never know) and I think it looks great. We wanted to start 2005 with a new look and hopefully a new attitude (Ok, so it's coming into March already but I've been having a break!) I hope you have all had a good rest too and that this New Year is been good to one and all so far!! Where to begin to bring you up to speed? Well, as most of you already know (I'm sure), my sister, Hannah gave birth to a beautiful baby daughter on Jan 3rd. Her name is Erin Anne McDonald and she is just gorgeous. She is so good natured (for an eight week old) and I'm the proudest Uncle ever! ... Much love and wishes to you all. Always and Forever Euan x
Well...I did not pass the practical driving part of the test...apparently one has to "stop" at a stop sign! Hey-ho. I have a re-sit on March 14th so keep your fingers crossed that I don't mess this one up! I drank lots of sugary Irn Bru in consolation and spent three days high on its effects.
I have given up on growing my hair. I couldn't stand the stupid sticky out bits any longer. I've had it cut really short again. I was gonna dye it blue but my Mother is against it and while I'm under her roof...
I hope you have all been getting my replies to your emails. I must say I'm doing awfully well with that promise...(Oooo, like sending a few emails is hard you self praising fool).
I'll be heading back down to London in a few weeks to meet up with some old friends and meet my writing partner...I'm so excited about this music project I can barely sleep at night. Finally, something to concentrate on...
Ok. That's it. Just wanted to let you know how the test went. I thought about saying I'd passed and then realised you'd all be wanting driven places and I would be unable to oblige so I told the truth in the end!!
Much Love
Euan x
Just a wee note really to say that I'll be back in the US, only for a wee while, but while I'm there I'll be doing a charity show... for all the details, check out the gig section :)
Well, thank you all for your messages of support re my driving test - it obviously helped because I passed this weekend!!! Second time lucky. Apparently all good drivers fail at least once! Now I have one week before I head off to London, to do as much driving as I can...
I'll be heading off to London on Sun 20th and then it's back to the US of A for a wee while to get involved in the Broadway Belter's gig at the Zipper. I hope to see some familiar faces there? I'm so excited to be coming back and I now know how long it's really been.
Anyhoo, thanks again and I'll be some of you very soon I'm sure...(Oh and thanks Emily for the fantastic picture montage you sent me)!
Much Love, Euan. xx
Happy Festive season to one and all (as Tiny Tim would say). Once again it is all change for the Official webpage. I decided it was the perfect place to concentrate on the debut album and future music projects and gigs. Noëlle has been great with her site and I want the sites to complement each other, rather than have 2 sites say pretty much the same things!
How have y'all been? (Notice my Americanisms)? I have been having such fun out here in Berkeley, California. I have been working on two Czech operas, translated and designed by Tony Kushner and Maurice Sendak respectively. The best thing of all has been that I am now a proficient stilt walker...Mind you, after all that learning to walk (and even dance) on the damn things it is looking more and more likely that they will be cut by the time I return to the production in NYC. Yes, these two one act plays will be arriving at The New Victory in early May for a short run! In the meantime, while Brundibar heads off to Yale for a few months, I am taking a break to begin rehearsals and a short run of David Grimm's new Restoration Comedy, "Measure for Pleasure" at The Public Theatre (also in NYC). This was the production we worked on at Sundance earlier this year and it is thrilling to see it get the attention it deserves in the Big Apple...
On the music front, things are going swimmingly. I'm waiting for something to blow up in my face 'cos things are never this smooth!!
The band are in the studio, working on some changes to the arrangements and when I get home in the New Year I join the boys in the studio to get the final tracks laid, ready for vocals in late January. I'm gonna try out a few of the new tracks at two gigs at Signature Theatre in Arlington, Virginia (just outside of Washington, DC) on Feb 20th. I hope I will see some familiar faces there to give me some early critiques..? I'm also in discussions with a couple of New York locations for the release of the album, which I would like to do in conjunction with a series of concerts in mid March.
Soon there will be some preliminary design work for the cover art that I shall put on line and a few studio photo shots to show you what this process has been like!
So, keep your eyes on this site for all the up to date album info and as the gigs and details clarify, you'll be the first to know.
As usual, thanks for all your support and love. I hope you all have a great festive season and I'll drop a note on this page to wish you all a happy entrance to 2006 nearer the time...
OK. Take Care for now and I'll see you soon.
